Heroes Challenge

Introduced in 2005, The Heroes Challenge is a Life-Skills based accreditation scheme aimed at encouraging people to show that they can complete one, or perhaps a series of ‘Life Skill’ challenges.

More than 3,000 certificates have been awarded through this initiative to date. Each ‘Heroes Challenge Pack’ contains 37 basic ‘Life Skill’ and ‘Key Skill’ challenges that help to build the self confidence of individuals and equip them with the ability to do things for themselves. The scheme recognises personal achievement and acknowledges development through the award of a Heroes Challenge certificate.

Challenges can range from ‘Using Coins’ or ‘Visiting a Café’ through to ‘Making a Sandwich’ or ‘Washing Pots’. Some challenges can be much easier than others, but for some people, completing what may appear to be a relatively easy task, can often represent a significant milestone and therefore, a huge personal achievement.
